A boatman’s body was found floating in the waters in between Pulau Bukom and Sentosa on Saturday 14 June after his sampan capsized two days earlier.
According to the Straits Times, the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) received a call regarding a sunken craft on the night of the capsizing.
The boatman, who was later identified as Tan Eng Hin, was missing, but rescue divers were able to save one of the crew members who was taken to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.
The crew members were said to be sailing off Selegie Beacon, near Sister’s fairway on Thursday night when the incident happened.
Tan’s body was only discovered on Saturday at about 6.29pm and he was pronounced dead by the paramedics at the scene.
The case has been classified as an unnatural death and investigations are ongoing to find out the cause of the accident.
